The Northland's only year-round soccer skills program and league for boys and girls 4 to 6. Red Star Juniors was created in 2002 in the Liberty, Mo. area with two goals in mind: To give young soccer players a strong foundation in foot skills and to present it in a positive, fun environment. Our inspiration came from the Pink Panthers, a successful Lee?s Summit, Mo., club that teaches its youngest players to dribble the ball confidently, and from nationally prominent Busch Soccer Club (now called St. Louis Select), which runs a skills program and league on which Red Star Juniors is loosely modeled. Our driving force is to help young players develop confidence and dexterity with the ball. We feel the basics, dribbling with both feet, cutting the ball with all parts of the foot, and trapping, passing and shooting, are skills that later make all facets of the game attainable.
